South Bay and North Bay

Unfortunately  we were not in the posh side of Scarborough!! Anyway North Bay is lovely!
Do you know the origin of the word posh? It's  the acronym of the words  Port Out Starboard Home, indicating the most comfortable side of  ships travelling from England to India and back in the 1800s. Cabins in the cooler side of ships were of  course more expensive and the code POSH was stamped on  the tickets of  first-class passengers.
