For a few weeks each June and July, the sporting world's attention is fixed on the quiet southern suburb of Wimbledon, as it has been since 1877. It is possible to buy the tickets in advance - but the prizes are incredibly high. it is also possibile to buy the day's ticket queuing the night before. Ground tickets (tickets for the outer-couts and for the public area) are available in the early afteroon. British peolple can also enter a public ballot, applications start in early August of the preceeding year.
